It’s crazy that I tweeted this and posted it way back on May 25th 2013, 3 weeks after I graduated high school…Speaking things into existence is so real, and it’s the key to achieving goals—I’m living proof! I had a clear vision and I believed in it, talked about it and got to see it come to life. This is the reason I’m so confident, I do this on the regular. If I want something, I talk as if it’s guaranteed to happen until it really does. It’s not being cocky, I simply understand a principle most do not that is “As a man thinks, so is he.” 37 weeks ago I was thinking I wanted #OnAirWithTheJo to blow up here at Northwestern when I got on campus and I wanted to make people famous while doing it and I did exactly that with @jerhiame! #transformationtuesday
WHERE ARE YOU FROM.
I’m from Louisiana!
I thank God every single day for being blessed enough to have had the opportunity to go to high school at such an incredible place. The atmosphere there was a culture of excellence, leadership and honor. Every teacher, faculty and member of staff pushed us every single day to take the road less traveled in order to prepare us to be the future leaders of America. Yes, athletics is what we are known for and winning is the reason we are hated, but athletics is simple a tool used there to teach life long lessons. Lessons like “When you stop getting better is when you stop being good” and “Everything is about everything”. At Evangel winning everything is the accepted standard and anything less is subpar. Let me explain why: First and foremost our Savior Christ Jesus called us to be excellent and a people set apart from what the rest of the world does. Secondly, in our world, people draw close to people who win. Christ’s commission He gave us was to go forth and make disciples of all men. The best way to attract the lost is to be the light. Therefore by winning in everything, Evangel attracts the lost by winning and then when they get to enrolled in school they are shown the Love of Christ. When the Love of Christ is shared, that’s when lives are changed. That is the true reason for Evangel and why it has endured through so much to get to the point it is today. Evangel is a place where leaders are formed. If you attend there currently, please cherish every single day you get to be there. Soak up everything that the faculty and staff are pouring into you because they truly love you and want to see you succeed. If you are blessed enough to be an alumni of the beautiful place I call my second home, Evangel Christian Academy, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m extremely thankful for the person they made me into and the opportunities they gave me that I enjoy today. I forever will be an Evangel Eagle. #EvangelAlumni #ItsAnEThing
